Ice Boats

The first day of ice braking operations in the Duluth-Superior Harbor brings a sure sign of springtime and an indicator of open water soon to come.
While the Cutter Alder was put into service today for the first time this season, the tiny ice boat will be put away as the seasons change.

Stony Point Fishing Shack


This shack served it's purpose many years ago, and now stands in silent watch over Lake Superior. It's working days are over, but, like an old grandpa, it represents an important heritage to those who pass by Stony Point.

Gooseberry Falls Spring Runoff

Full Moon at Split Rock Lighthouse
